National Immigrant Heritage Month
On June 1, 2021, the Administration issued a proclamation to designate June as National Immigrant Heritage Month.
In his address, President Biden called the United States a Nation of Immigrants that makes us culturally rich, better, and stronger. He also made a point that we should acknowledge the contribution immigrants have made to the country throughout centuries and end demonization of immigrants. He urged Congress to pass the immigration reform plan known as the U.S. Citizenship Act of 2021 that he introduced on his first day as President which would provide a pathway to permanent residency and citizenship to nearly 11 million undocumented people.
